“The
Son of Man of man came not to be served, but to serve,” and “Whosoever wants
to be a follower of mine, let them take up their cross and come follow me.”
Following
these words of our Lord to truly walk in his footsteps, we need to serve our
brothers and sisters. One way in
which to do this is to serve of Parish Family Members by becoming part of one of
the many ministries within our Parish. For more information on any of

This
choir sings Sundays at the 10 a.m. Mass to enhance the celebration.
Practices are usually held immediately following the 10 a.m. Sunday mass.
Everyone from grade school and up is welcome to join.
No auditions are required, any voice will blend with the group. Come out and have some fun!
This
choir consists of men and women who sing at the masses on Saturday at 6 p.m. and
Sunday at 10 a.m. alternating weekly. Practice
is every Tuesday morning at 9:30 am. We
sing at funerals lending support and comfort to bereaved families and are
available for special occasions. They
enjoy socializing together periodically
and take the summer months off.. New
members are always welcome!
An
organist usually plays at the Saturday evening mass, the Sunday 10 a.m. mass and
fills in at the 10 a.m. mass during the summer months.
Any interested individuals with some piano background will be trained for
the position.
The
word of the Lord is broken for us to grow and learn the love and wisdom of God.
Lectionary missalettes/booklets are provided to prepare ahead of time,
and a detailed outline is available. Our
parish team of experienced readers is helpful and eager to give support to new
members. Proclaimers
are asked to read about once a month or less, at the Mass of their
choice.
An integral part of our community celebration is the breaking and sharing of the Holy Communion bread. Holy Communion is distributed under both species of bread and wine. New members are welcome and needed.
The Offertory Family represents the community offering our gifts of bread and wine and the collection which is the fruit of our labour. Please consider this Liturgical ministry.
Many parishes in Windsor and throughout the diocese have men and women acting as servers for funerals. Adult servers add a tremendous amount of dignity and respect to this celebration. If you are available during the daytime, please join.
Ushers are considered ministers of hospitality who welcome us as we enter the church building. This ministry also takes up our offerings for the needs of the parish. The St. Thomas the Apostle team welcomes new members.
Any child in grade four or higher is encouraged to join the altar servers and assist with any mass celebration. New servers are always most welcome!
This committee plans and makes preparations for all the feasts and seasons that occur throughout the Church Year. It oversees the coordination of all the Ministries that serve during the Masses. The committee meets regularly, and is a liaison between the liturgy ministries and the Parish Advisory Council.
The altar-care society members bring forth their gifts of flair to beautify and adorn our place of worship. This ministry includes the care of flowers, banners and altar linens.
Every Monday night, this group meets after the 7 p.m. mass to pray the Rosary. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to come and participate.
The
sacrament of Baptism is a communal event and should be shared with our
community. Members of this ministry
meet with the families in a one-night class (one hour) and also assist the
priest at the celebration of the Baptism during mass.
Leaders
host a weekly study group at the parish hall.

In
this ministry, our parish responds to the call to reach out to the poor in our
midst. Members of this ministry are
dedicated and compassionate. Food
is given to those who call the church office for assistance.
This
ministry raises our awareness to social issues in today’s world.
This ministry gathers to suggest ways we can change the injustices of our

This
ministry is offered at the Sunday 11 a.m. masses during the school year and is
for children between the ages of 4 and 6. Leaders
work in teams at the weekly children’s group gatherings on Sunday mornings.

For
our young children who are not in the Catholic school system, our parish
community assists parents in their roles as the first teachers of faith.
A Catechist does not have to be a teacher by profession.
All one needs is the love of teaching children.
Each month we need two greeters to welcome parishioners as they enter the parish hall, and a hospitality team to bake and serve coffee, tea, juice and baked goods.
The
members of this group continue the ministry of Jesus, for the care and concern
of the sick and suffering. Holy
Communion is brought to homes and hospitals for parishioners who cannot join us
for church celebrations.
This
parish women’s group assists in various ministries.
